Regular Meeting Minutes December 16, 2003
Meeting Opened at 7:15 P.M.
President opened meeting.
A moment of silence was observed to respect the passing of Roland O. Masse,
husband of Board Member, Jean Masse.
Minutes read and accepted
Treasurer's Report balance as of today is $3,337.84
New Business
In compliance with the new (Health Insurance Portability and Accountability
Act) HIPPA rules, Willis Schoof will be responsible for monitoring the Church
in the Acres facility while we are in session.
The new committee members selected to meet with the Mayor on issues that
relate to Sixteen Acres are Ted Knee, Willis Schoof and Doris Robinson.
We are still accepting any donations of scarves, hats and mittens for the
Children's Study Home please contact Ruth Moorehouse at 783-4887.
A motion was made and accepted that if we don't have enough items for
the 61 children (15 girls, 46 boys ages 12-18) we will purchase the balance
of items with money from our treasury, not to exceed $300.00
Motion accepted and passed
Ruth wanted the association to be aware of a community member who recently
passed away leaving three children. A local bank has set up an education
fund. Please contact her for more information.
Richard Greenberg made a motion to write a letter supporting the position
that a High Speed Transportation System would be beneficial to Springfield.
Motion passed, Richard will compose the letter.
Meeting adjourned early to enjoy our annual Christmas party.
There will not be a regular meeting nor a board meeting in January.
We will resume our monthly meetings February 17th and our board meeting February
4th, 2004.
A reminder for seniors to call your legislators to keep active on Social Security issues.
A reminder to please continue bringing in donations for the Open Pantry.
