Al Chwalek, Director Springfield Department of Public Works gave a presentation and a question and answer session. He may be reached at 787-6224 for any additional inquires. The City Yard's telephone number is 787-6225 and is open twenty-fours hours.

Treasurer's Report-

Christmas Party is scheduled for December 16, 2003 at 7pm
Please bring a dessert or donation for the raffle. We are collecting mittens, scarves and hats for the Children's Study Home, please bring new items to party.

New Business
1-The newly formed By-law committee will have five to nine board members. James Gregory is the Chairman. The following members have agreed to serve: Ted Knee, Richard Greenberg, Helen Boyle, Willie Johnson, Doris Robinson.

2- Western New England College is sponsoring a conference for women on finances, November 22nd 8-1pm

3- There will be a meeting here to discuss the new elderly housing complex. The units will cost about $1,900 per month. The Development of the Putnam's Puddle assisted senior living center is not in our district but concerns our area by its close proximity. More details will be presented when received.

New Business

PVTA meeting. Clodo went and listened to the discussion on how to keep the prices down by using one penny of tax dollars to benefit transportation.

The Community Policing meeting at Colonial estates takes place the second Wednesday of each month at 5:30 on the property. Mayor Elect Charlie Ryan made a point to stop in and lend his future support to the community police organization.

There will not be a regular meeting nor a board meeting in January. We will resume our monthly meetings February 17th and our board meeting February 4th, 2004.

A reminder for seniors to call your legislators to keep active on Social Security issues.
A reminder to please continue bringing in donations for the Open Pantry.
It was brought to our attention again that there has been a bus driver who is discarding her scratch tickets out the window of the PVTA bus she drives.

Finally, Clodo spoke on the possibility of establishing more Crime Watch meetings. A group meets each month for the Mallow Hill Road area.
