Secretary report--minutes were read by Ruth, Secretary. The minutes were approved and passed

Treasurer report--Beginning balance $1,799.67, and with the income and expenses, the ending balance is $1,926.83. The report was approved and passed

The City Hall meeting for the Ginger Blossom that is scheduled for Feb 19, 2003, is now cancelled. It is scheduled for 3/5/03 at 6:00pm, Room 220. The meeting is with the Planning Board to talk about the inspection of the restaurant to open soon. There is no meeting scheduled right now on the liquor license

Jean says there are now 168 members of the Sixteen Acres Civic Association

NEW BUSINESS:

Nomination committee for the June elections are, Marisa Johnson, Ted Knee, Karen Lee, Helen Boyle, Denise Kelsey

The manager of the Ginger Blossom, Mr. Chen and friend Henry spoke about the opening of the restaurant. When will be the opening? Do they want a full liquor license? When will the Building Dept. come to inspect the restaurant? Spfld cold limit hours & liquor license. Have you managed or owned other restraints? Yes, in NY and Florida. Our chef has a lot of experience.

A motion was made by Willis to vote to no objection by Sixteen Acres Assoc. and give our support to Ginger Blossom and let the Liquor License work on things

Discussion on the motion, Paul says this will be a respectable restaurant, let them open it with the full liquor license. Richard, said Alibis Restaurant said that they were going to one thing and then did another. Carol says we should not restrict the bar. Ted said that the manager should not say that they need to serve liquor to survive. Will said to let the liquor license process work Someone amended the motion which says to support serving liquor at tables. The majority of members present voted to support the motion

There is a committee forming to talk about yearly dues going up

We gave a plaque to State Rep. Paul Caron, for all his past help with the Sixteen Acres Civic Assoc. Paul brought his family and spoke about how much he had enjoyed working our group

We will be having the summer picnic at Camp Wilder-no date announced yet
