Board Meeting Minutes June 2, 2004



Please note there are no minutes from May. Discussed at the May meeting was the new business "Wings Over Springfield" Restaurant that will open soon.  The owners will be at our next board meeting.

We will have our annual board meeting in July at the Ginger Blossom on Parker Street.

A Flag Presentation will take place at the Mill Pond School on June 14th.

Dunkin Donuts will donate the landscaping maintenance again this year.

Speaker from the Red Cross will be our guest at our next regular meeting. The following month Helen Lewis from the City will be our guest.

June 2, 2004 Regular Board Meeting
Meeting Opened at 6:30 P.M.

President opened meeting and outlined the budget. Motion made to accept the budget.

Wings brought in samples of the menu that will be available when the restaurant opens.

There was a motion passed to eliminate the HOT sign once Bernie's is moved and a new business opens. Motion passed.  Code Enforcement will be contacted.  

There is still a problem with cars being sold in driveways along Parker Street and Code Enforcement will be contacted again. The house on Frank Street is finally up for sale!!

Motion to authorize $140 from the budget for the Annual Board of directors dinner at the Ginger Blossom at 6:30 PM on July 14th,  Motion did not pass.

A letter to the Principal of Sabis School was sent. A few members will meet with her at the end of the month.  A police officer has been posted and is ticketed traffic offenders with $125.00 ticket.

Treasurer's Balance is $3,976.83.

Reminder that a Flag Dedication on June 14th at the Mill Pond School at 1:00 PM. will take place.

The Sixteen Acres Civic Awards or SNAP awards will be dedicated to local merchants at our regular meeting in June.   The following merchants will receive certificates:  Dunkin Donuts, The Gilded Lily, The Lions Club and Quality Time Child Care.

Clodo will be honored by the Latino Breakfast Club for his local civic work on June 10th at the Basketball Hall of Fame between 5-8 PM.  

On June 25th the Open Pantry will host a Karaoke fund raiser.
